I knew I didn't have much time left to implement the story but I thought it was important to have some context behind why and what was causing the player to be where he was. I think implementing the plot of the game so late was a big mistake as it meant I couldn't write very much of it or make it as polished as I would have liked. In my opinion the story of the game doesn't really make sense nor is there very much story revealed in the gameplay that I had managed to make.
On the other hand I have been able to make 2 more scenes that attempt the get the basics of the story understood by the player. I spent a lot of time creating the introduction level audio that tries to depict what it would be like inside of the cloning tube during the explosion, it took several hours worth of editing all of the audio files together smoothly and layering them up into something that sounds natural. I created additional walking audio files this time on a wet surface as one of the new scenes had a wet floor and implementing this new audio made it more immersive.
In the latest puzzle that I had designed I knew that is was highly unlikely the player was going to solve it right the first time so I believed it was very important to add a restart button that set all of the items in the level to how they were before so that you can have another attempt at the puzzle. This was easy to implement and I believe it is a key mechanic to ensure that the game is enjoyable to play.
The last thing to be added was and end of game screen, this was simply there so that the players knew that they had reached the end of what I was able to make. This menu allowed them to go back to the main menu only.
These were the late adjustments and additions I made to the game to improve the affect is has on the player.
