Working on my second poster

Updated: Feb 4, 2020

Today I started working on my second poster for the project, this time I did something quite a bit simpler. I wanted to work on something that clearly displayed the lethal affect plastic can have on aquatic life. So I decided I could make a food chain that displayed plastic waste to be the most dangerous of the predators.

I only started the basic colour and images that will be edited until they look perfect. I will have to change the contrast and brightness of the plastic bottle as well as the sea weed. It is possible that I will change the vector image for the seaweed as it isn't recognisable straight away. I will also experiment with the size of the items in the food chain to make sure that they are the focus of the poster as they currently are not.

Colour wise I think it may be a bit too vibrant so I think I may change them to something a bit more pastel like. Overall I am happy with this experiment and I have a clear idea of where I want to go.

Here is a small update displaying the change in the seaweed design as well as the increase in each of the items sizes.

I played about with the gradient further and came up with this:

It makes the right side of the poster more threatening, however in my opinion it is now less clear so I may experiment with the vibrance of the gradient.

I ended up separating the image into 2 different files so that I could animate the waves in a basic movement cycle.
